MassDEP Drinking Water Program | Public Health Orders

When MassDEP issues a public health order to a local public water supplier(PWS), the PWS must notify its customers of the actions the customers should take. The PWS must also take appropriate corrective action, continue to monitor its water supply, and notify customers when the problem has been remedied and the water order has been lifted. If you have questions regarding a public health order the PWS should be contacted for details, and in limited instances consumers may find more information on their city or towns web site. The MassDEP website provides basic information regarding public health orders. If you have any comments and/or suggestions regarding this site, contact MassDEP - Drinking Water Program at Program.Director-DWP@state.ma.us
